Sketch Saturday - Sketch #354

The Paper Shelter is sponsoring this week's Sketch Saturday challenge.  I've used their image There's a Fairy in my Tea! for my card.  This image has a lot of flexibility - I didn't think of fairy wings behind the girl, but rather of leaves.  I think I have spring on the brain - and am waiting for the colors to break through here in Minnesota!  Some of our trees are looking like buds are starting to grow.

Unintentionally, I ended up taking a little liberty with Alex's sketch because I forgot to add the extra piece of paper under the circle.  Oops!

I am determined to make a dent in my stash of patterned paper, so I've cut into three new pieces of paper for this card - gasp!!  It wasn't easy!  The little flower die cuts are from Impression Obsession, the hello is from WPlus9.

Check out our DT 's ideas here and play along with us this week - maybe you'll be inspired to cut into virgin paper too!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #353

Welcome back to another Saturday and a new sketch to play with!

My image is from our sponsor Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  I wasn't thinking about the sketch when I chose this image, so I had the opportunity to think a little more creatively about how I wanted to use it.
I decided to use the image as my flag and pulled out an MFT stitched fishtail die to create my shaped panel.  The other two layers are trimmed using my layers.  The image is called Thank You Tulip Block.  I ended up cropping off the black line border around three sides and used my gingham ribbon to camouflage the 4th.  It gives a whole new look to the digi!

My image is colored with Copics.  I used R22, 24, 27 and R39 for the deepest shading.  The leaves are a combination of Gs and YGs, with the lights color YG00 and the deepest YG 67 (which I cannot find on my craft desk to save my soul!!).

Stop by the Sketch Saturday Blog to take a peek and be inspired.  I'm excited to see your take on the sketch!

Creative Knockouts #81 - Shaped Card Challenge

Get your creative ideas flowing, Friends -  we have a shaped card challenge Creative Knockouts for the next fortnight.  Your card can be any kind of fancy fold or shape - just not a conventional rectangle card.

I elected to make mine a circle card, and pulled out the biggest stitched die circle I had from Lil' Inkers.  Next, I ran the top through an embossing folder.  First, I inked up the inside of the folder with lavender ink to give the card some color.  I love how it turned out!  My image, Daisy Pitcher, is from our sponsor, Meljens Designs.  If you like Meljens cute images, pop into their shop quickly.  They are closing in April, but you can get their digital images on sale before the doors close.

Stop by the Creative Knockouts blog and see what the other girls have in store for you.  I can't wait to see your cards!

Fab 'n' Funky #251/ - Spring colors
Little Red Wagon #281/ - All Tied Up

Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge #6

Hi Everyone,
Team B is up with a new challenge, 3 new sponsors, and new DT members for you to stop in and meet.

I am using Spring Banquet, from the Etsy shop of sponsor, Ching-Chou Kuik.  There are so many beautiful images for coloring.  This one kind of intimidated me, but all I had to do was get started - and I was in love!

I decided to use the "outside the box" technique for her hair and have a quick picture for you to show how easy the look is to accomplish.  You just decide where the image is going to extend beyond the border of the die.  I draw a light line inside the die and snip the spots that are going to be outside so they can rest on top of the die when I run it through my die cut machine.  After the die cut is ready, then it's time to fussy cut the other spots.  You can see this most clearly on my card with the hair on the lower left.

Stop by the Lil'Patch blog and see what the rest of the team has for you for our latest anything goes challenge.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #352

Debra is this week's sketch artist and this is a great one to play with!  Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp, with their generous $25.00 prize!  Just think of the goodies $25 would buy!!

I used Kindness Matters from Neat & Tangled for the sentiment.  My Copics added a bit of color to the flower and leaves from Verve's Poppy's Birthday.  The papers are from my scrap drawer.
The look of the card is all tied together with my favorite stitched dies from Lil' Inker Designs.  I can't get enough of them!  They add so much visual interest.  My card uses their Stitched Mats: Circles and Stitched Mats: Rectangles.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #351

Hi Sketch Saturday Fans!

Alex is this week's sketch designer.  I ended up rotating the sketch to work with our sponsor, Meljen's Designs image.  This one is called Brooke's Lost Tooth.  It will come in handy for the teeth dropping out of the mouths of my grandkids!

Make sure you get over to the Meljen's shop - I just read on their blog that Melissa is closing the shop at the end of the month and is moving on to other artistic challenges.  There's a 50% off sale through March.

Take a peek at the DT creations for this week and then show us what you have created!

Creative Knockouts #79 - Border Time!

I'm back again with another challenge for the Creative Knockouts DT.  This one is called Border Time - which leaves some great room for interpretation.  The Paper Shelter is sponsoring and offering a generous prize of $15.00 to spend in their shop. They have so many cute images.  This one is called  I Am the Easter Bunny.

My ovals are inlaid into the card front and the bunny girl is fussy cut and popped out to give some dimension.  Check out the Creative Knockouts Blog to see what the DT has for you here and then play along with us!
