Sketch Saturday - Sketch #367

Hi Sketch Fans,
This week's sketch challenge is sponsored by DeeDee's Digis.  They have an array of images, including already colored and black line images for you to color yourself.  My card features an image from their Coffee Cup Greeting set.  I added a small stamp to the side of the mug to give it a birthday look.  Alex created this fun sketch.  Hope you'll play along with us this week!  Check out what the Sketch Saturday DT has ready for you this week here.

Creative Knockouts #95 - Feature Buttons!

Our latest challenge at Creative Knockouts is sponsored by Fred, She Said.  They have an array of already colored images and line drawings.  A departure from my usual and wanting to stretch myself, I chose this one called, Old Truck.  A dear friend of mine had an old truck like this in blue.  When I saw the image, I knew instantly that I would color this in honor of Peter.  His is dearly missed and his memories live on.

Our challenge is for you to feature buttons.  I was so focus on coloring the truck, I forgot about the buttons - and I love using buttons!!  Oops!  I can't wait to see what you do with them.  Check out the work of my DT sisters here.

Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends #12 - Anything Goes

I'm back with my final DT card for Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends.  I have loved being part of the team.  I know I'll be submitting cards in the future!
As always, anything goes is the theme for Challenge #12.  I was able to use an image from one of our three sponsors,  Concetta Kilmer and her Etsy Shop, Enchanted Design Studios.  The image is called Cupcake Cutie!  It reminded me of the Day of the Dead masks seen in Mexico at the beginning of November to mark a holiday to remember loved ones who have passed.

I used E41 and 42 to color her mask with a little E44 for shading.  Her body is E00, 21, 11.  The hair is done with C 04, 05. 07 and 09.  Her hair bow and mask design colors are R20, 22, 24.  Her wings are R00, 000 & 01.

Sketch Saturday #366

Happy Saturday, Sketch Fans!  Little Miss Muffet is sponsoring this week's challenge.  This is their image, Polka Dot Pals Lark.

This was a fun card to put together. To stretch myself with this card by creating a scene for the clown.  Not being a trained artist, I went to the trusty web to see what other folks have done.  Debbie Olson created a floor for a card on her Thinking Inking blog that I used to guide me for the stage the clown is standing on.  Kim O'Connell's colored curtains (from 2013!) used a stamp set from the now defunct There She Goes Blog, helped me sketch a set for my clown and shade them with yellow green Copics.

The Internet makes it a whole lot easier to take something in my head and get it on paper!  Thanks, Ladies! I truly admire your style and am thankful to you for helping me grow!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #365

Debra had the idea for our sketch this week - and what a great one it was to use!  My card shows off a digi from Digi Stamp Boutique, called Love You Monkey.   One of my granddaughters just had a birthday and her gift was a week at a camp with a "Jungle Adventure" theme and she loves monkeys!  Perfect!  A birthday sentiment goes right in the center of the heart, a couple of enamel dots, a shiny die cut sun, and viola! done!  Don't you love the face of this cheeky monkey?!?

Stop by the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog and play along this week.  Always favorite, Simon Says Stamp! is the sponsor, with a $25 prize to use in their store!

Creative Knockouts #93 - Use Your Stash

Art By Miran is sponsoring our "Use Your Stash" challenge at Creative Knockouts.  You've gotta love the idea of this challenge - who doesn't want to use rather than just collect a stash?!?  The "Hello" tag, it's backing piece, the flower and the button were all on my desk - ready to use!  The papers that back the image panel and the back bubble paper were from my scrap drawers - yahoo! I'm always excited when I use things that have been on my desk - patient discards from other card ideas, or pieces out of my scrap drawers.  It's like a little personal victory!

This cutie is Art By Miran's Blowing Bubbles.  I loved her big eye.  She was a little more challenging to color than I thought she was going to be.  The straight side- profile tested me with shading; the bubbles were tricky, too!  And then, there were her lips!  The bubbles actually have several very light colors including V0000, BG0000, BG70 and then a little spot of Stickles to catch the light.

Can you keep a secret?  I just realized I forgot to shade the background!  Oops!   Here's what the Creative Knockout DT has created for inspiration.   Collect some of your stash and play along with us this week!

SketchSaturday - Sketch #364

How can it be the first Saturday in JUNE, already?!?  Time seems to be moving a lot quicker lately, but no matter the date, it's Saturday and that means a new sketch challenge.   Sami Stamps is our sponsor.  I am using one of her winter images, called Comfy Cocoa.  I tried to create a scene and make it appear that she's sitting on the floor looking out of a window.  I know I don't have the window area right, but the scene creted a story for her in my head - peacufully looking out the window with a cup of coffee - mmmm, blissful.  Speaking of blissful, come and join our Sketch Saturday challenge this week!  What could be better than some time creating?
