CAS Colours & Sketches #220 - Sketch Challenge

For this week's sketch for the CC&S Blog, I pulled out a very old set from PTI called Vintage Picnic.  There was enough going on with the background paper, I deliberately chose to keep my stamp for the image panel simple and uncluttered.  I love how this one turned out!

Thanks for Beverly for all of our April challenges.  Please pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog to see what the rest of the DT has for inspiration!  So much eye candy!!  Hope to see you in the gallery this week!

CAS Colours & Sketches #219 - Color Challenge

Beverly has another lovely color combination for us this week as Challenge #219 for CC&S.

From the outset, I decided to keep my stamping to a minimum because I didn't have inks in the exact colors and thought I would use one of my recently purchased Avery Elle Sentimental Elements dies.   Settling on the word hello,  I cut it in all three colors of paper, but in the end decided it looked more interesting to only use two of the colors.   The leaf stamp is from PTI's Modern Basics sent, which seemed like a great way to help feature Tip Top Taupe.  Enamel dots in Mint Macaroon proved to be a spring-like accent color.  Once all of the design decisions were made, it was a pretty simple card to make.  Using Stick It! paper behind the sentiments made adhering them simple on the white corrugated background. I've been saving that corrugated paper for a while - waiting for the right card to upcycle it.  It's first life was as a liner for a box of shampoo!

Please take a look at the rest of the DT's creative cards on the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog and then join us for this week's challenge!

CAS Colours & Sketches #217 - Colour Challenge

Happy April (gulp!!)!  A new month means a new hostess on the CC&S Challenge Blog and this color combination is brought to you by Beverly.

I was on a staycation at the end of March and "playing" in my craft room with some techniques using Distress Inks for watercoloring.  Jane's card from last week gave me the idea of rubbing ink right on the watercolor paper and then stamping in black. I loved her look so much, I CASED her card. Thanks for the inspiration, Jane!

One has to let go of the result when using this technique because everything is out of your hands once the water hits the paper!! I had several pieces of paper on my craft table, from very vibrant colors to soft colors.  For this card, I decided spraying a little water on the colors gave me the look I was going for.  Just bought these dies from Avery Elle, which fit perfectly along the border.  (Since I didn't take a trip, I could justify a few new toys and got the matching stamp set!!)
Does anyone recognize this very old set from Stampin' Up!?  Mixed Bouquet was one of my favorites when it came out.  I think it appeared in the catalog in 2005.

Pop by the CC&S Blog and see what the rest of the DT in store for you this week!
