CAS Colours & Sketches #257 - Double Challenge

The fifth Tuesday of the month means a double challenge on the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge Blog!  This one had me stumped - first the sketch and then once I came up with a plan for that, I had to figure how how to use the colors for another Valentine card!  This one is for my grandson.

The certainly celery patterned paper is from deep in old SU stash.  In fact, I think it's the last little bit of it (sigh) and the heart frame is cut free-hand.  I didn't have the other two colors, so I went to my Copics for the Apricot Appeal and substituted Bermuda Bay paper and ink for Coastal Cabana.  A combination of other supplies from my stash went into this creation:  Sugar Pea Designs' Notched Heart Journal Die was die cut in white and Bermuda Bay.  The hearts are inlaid from each of the die cuts.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Valentine set and the fussy-cut monster is from another old (unidentified) stamp set.  A corner rounder on two edges of the card back mirrors the edges of the journal die cut.

Take a look what the other ladies on the DT have created this week on the the CC&S Blog - and then try your hand at Beverly's double challenge.  I'm looking forward to seeing the creativity in this week's gallery!

My Time to Craft Challenge #363 - Transport

Transport is the theme for Challenge #363 on the My Time to Craft Blog.  I chose to use the transport theme as a Valentine's card for one of my grandchildren.  I love how this sweet little bicycle turned out.  The stamps and die were a freebie with a card making magazine I bought a couple of years ago.  I've never used it before and in fact dug it out of a box of supplies I was going to get rid of! Not any more!!  The combination of patterned papers really keeps your eye moving around this card and the three epoxy hearts (I rescued from a sale bin last February) serve as a wonderful anchor.

You can see how the other DT gals used the transportation theme here.  You have a fortnight to add your card to the MTTC gallery.  See you on February 10th for our next challenge!

CAS Colours & Sketches #256 - Sketch Challenge

Beverly has a sketch for this week's CAS Colours and Sketch Challenge.  I thought I would get a jump on making Valentine cards for my grandchildren with this sketch - after all, Valentine's Day is only a couple of weeks away!

It took several iterations before I settled on this final card.  My first attempt started with a circle (since that was part of the sketch), but I ended up feeling an oval better-framed the stitched heart trail from Sugar Pea Design's Special Delivery stamp set.  Not many supplies for this card - an embossing folder, a scrap of pink patterned paper, and heat embossing for the sentiment and the pink trail.  The sentiment and paper airplane are popped off the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Check out the DT's takes on the sketch here and then come and play with us!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #255 - Colour Challenge

The colors Beverly has chosen for this week's CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge are not my usual palette, so I had to do a little extra thinking as I went digging in my stamp stash for an image to use.  An Amuse Studios purchase of stamps from just before the holidays fit the bill!  OMG Cake is used for the cake stand and cloche and the little plant is from House Plants.  Having all three ink colors was a double bonus, so I pulled out my blender pen and went to work.  The simplicity of the images makes it easy to keep the card CAS.

I hope you will play along with us this week.  I can't wait to see how everyone uses the colors in the challenge.  Don't forget to take a peek at the DT's cards here - they are sure to inspire your creativity!!

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #254 - Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the first CC&S Blog Challenge of 2018!  Hurrah!  I hope your new year is off to a great start.  Our talented, new DT members for 2018 are with us this week.  I'm so excited to have them on board and look forward to their creativity. Beverly is January's challenge host with a sweet sketch for you to try your hand at for Challenge #254.

Two dies, some patterned paper, a sentiment, three sequins and a corner rounder are all that is used to create this CAS card (with lots of white space!!).  The envelope die is from Sugar Pea Designs - called Special Delivery Accents; the sentiment is from Lil' Inkers' Send Pretty Mail.

Take a peek at the DT makes HERE for a little inspiration.  You have until Monday, January 15th to play along with us.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

My Time to Craft #362 - Something New

Happy New Year from all of us at My Time to Craft!  Our first challenge theme for 2018 is Something New.

My card is for a friend whose new granddaughter was born a few days before Christmas! Waffle Flower's Just Popping In stamp is used for the image.  I fussy cut the hanging onesie and an extra heart to give the drawer pull dimension.

This challenge theme will be easy for those of you who got new stamps and papers for gifts! You have until January 19 to add your card to our gallery!  The DT has some inspiration to help you started HERE!
