CAS Colours & Sketches #261 - Sketch Challenge

We have a fun sketch for you this week on the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog.  I went on a binge and bought some new card-making supplies recently.  This card makes use of some of the new additions to my collection!  The stamp is Wish Big from Ellen Hutson Essentials and the little rectangle window is from MFT.  I am so thrilled with how this turned out.  It's a birthday card for my son-in-law and I love the humor in the illustrations and the sentiment!!

I adapted Patricia's sketch by moving it to the right side of the card to make room for the hippo on the inside.

The inside of the card is CAS and pretty cute, too!!  Hope you will play along with us this week!  Take a peek at the DT makes here!

My Time to Craft Challenge #365 - Monochomatic

Mags wants us to use a Monochromatic theme for  Challenge #365 on the My Time to Craft Challenge Blog.  The directions are to pick a color and use variations on it.  This one is a happy accident for me. I started this card with a different challenge in mind, but there wasn't enough stamping.  All of the variations of mauve ended up to be perfect for this monochrome challenge.  The butterfly die cuts are treated with a touch of Copic marker and Wink of Stella for shine and the wings are rolled inward to give the butterflies dimension.

Hope you will join us for the latest challenge on My Time to Craft!

ATSM Challenge #280 - Photo Inspiration

Just looking at the inspiration photo for this week's Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge reminds me spring is around the corner for those of us in North America.  It's a comforting thought, especially where I live in Minnesota.  Our days are getting longer and we've had a break a couple of times recently when the temps have been nice enough to leave my long puffy down coat at home!

My card uses a butterfly from Altenew's Bamboo Rose Stamp Set, a Spellbinders Overlapping Circles embossing folder, and the Faith Wings sentiment from Impression Obsessions.

Using the white layer cake in the top left photo as my inspiration, I die cut the card base and embossed the right portion.  The butterflies were colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sentiment is a perfect companion and the Calypso Coral ink adds a nice pop of color.  I'm just not sure about the sequins!!

CAS Colours & Sketches #260 - Colour Challenge

Welcome back to a new CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.  This week, Patricia has a colour challenge for us.

I did a little online shopping recently; this stamp set, Vintage Teacups from Altenew is one on my new purchases.  I am a coffee drinker, but lots of folks in my family prefer tea, so I have a feeling I will get lots of use out of the set.  This particular card was a pain - and I spent the better part of a day working on it.  The original was stamped right onto the card front - lots of white space, but I thought it really needed the Sweet Sugarplum to tie in the flowers on the teacup.  I didn't have the ink, so I die cut a sentiment from Sweet Sugarplum paper. . . not quite right - and it was downhill from there!!  Too stubborn to start over - this was probably the fourth version.  It's not as CAS as I originally envisioned, but the Marina Mist strip down the side was needed to unify the colors.

Hope you will spend a little time on the CC&S Blog to check out what the DT has for you and then come and play along with us this week.

CAS Colours & Sketches #259 - Sketch Challenge

It's a sketch week on the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog.  I knew right away I wanted to use a stamp to represent the stripes on Patricia's fun sketch.  I masked a background stamp from Hero Arts to  show just three lines of the pattern and then used white embossing powder.  The tag was the most time consuming; I had two or three other tags all worked up, but in the end they didn't look as CAS or as sweet as this one.  Love the combination of Sahara Sand with white embossing powder and the soft pink.  The hearts on the tag are from an old SU! punch.  Thank you to my teamie, Karen for her card last week, it reminded me my spiral punch was sitting on a shelf collecting dust!  The little heart beneath the sentiment was sitting on my super-messy desk. Luckily, it was left from a card I made a couple of weeks ago and the extra pieces never made it into the waste basket yet!!

I hope you will check out the rest of the DT inspiration over on the CC&S Blog and then show us your take on the sketch in the gallery.

New DT Announcement! ATSM Challenge #278

G'Day Mates and welcome new blog visitors from Down Under!  This is my first post as a member of the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge Blog, which comes to us from Australia.  I was thrilled when Kylie invited me to joint this group of talented and culturally diverse designers!

Holiday is the theme for ATSM's Challenge #278.  I've been on a quest to make Valentine cards for my grandkids and am coming to the end of my list.
My card uses products from a variety of companies.  The heart die cut is from Sugar Pea Designs, the  embossing folder is a Cuttlebug, and the stamp is an oldie from Stampin' Up, called Happy Heart Day.

I hope you will take a look at the rest of Team A's takes on the holiday theme and then play along with us in the ATSM gallery!

CAS Colours & Sketches #258 - Colour Challenge

Patricia is February's CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge host and her first colour combination was dreamy to work with.  I am still working on creating Valentine cards for my grandchildren and this one is going to the youngest.  I actually raided the stamps on my grandkids desk in the craft room - some of you might remember it as an a stamp from an old SU set, called Happy Heart Day. It's paired with a sentiment from PTI using Wild Wasabi embossing powder.  After trying to color that elephant with my Copics and not being pleased with the color, I decided to stamp on patterned paper and fussy cut it.

Hope you will pop over to the CC&S Blog and check out the other DT makes and then play along with us this week.  See you in the gallery!
